Select the appropriate adapter for your bottle lamp kit. You'll typically find either a single or multiple rubber adapters provided. Opt for the adapter that matches snugly with the opening of your bottle. Should the fit be loose, consider applying either super glue or hot glue to ensure a firm attachment.
Continue assembling by adding the washer onto the steel threaded pipe. Ensure that ¼ inch (2.54 cm) of the nipple remains visible. Finally, position the check ring, which will act as a lid for the bottle, on top of the washer.
Use a screwdriver to gently loosen and remove the set screw from the socket. Next, tightly affix the socket onto the steel threaded pipe, ensuring to leave a ¼ inches (2.54 cm) portion visible.
Now, carefully insert the socket into the opening of your bottle, using the rubber adapter to create a tight seal. For extra stability, secure the adapter in place with a small amount of super glue or hot glue. Push the assembly down firmly until only the socket cap remains visible.

Before starting, put on safety goggles and gloves to avoid cuts and scratches. To start drilling a hole in a glass bottle, first cut out paper squares and tape them onto the bottle for protection. This will help safeguard the labels from water and protect your hands if the glass shatters.
Measure and mark where you want the hole, ensuring you leave enough space from the bottle's base to avoid shattering. Using envelope labels is recommended for easy removal, but duct tape works if that's what you have on hand.
Begin drilling by resting the bottle on a towel to dampen vibrations. Start with a 5mm bit and drill gradually to maintain control and prevent the drill from deviating. After about 30 seconds, you should see dust around the drill tip, indicating progress.
At this point, remove the tape. Move to the sink and run water over the drilling area to lubricate the bit and minimize cracks. Start with a high RPM, but adjust based on the vibration and noise. If you notice excessive vibration or chalky powder, slow down and increase the water flow.
Keep the drill vertical and let its weight do the work without applying additional pressure. This process can take 10 - 20 minutes. Once the initial hole is made, switch to a 12mm bit and continue drilling at a slower speed. Regularly check the fit with the grommet to avoid drilling too deep. As you near completion, test the grommet fit. If necessary, trim the grommet rather than drilling further.

There are two ways to seal the hole by passing the electrical wire through the grommet and then inserting the grommet into the hole. If the wire is already in place, carefully push the grommet into the hole without removing the wire.
Thoroughly dry the bottle using an oven, hair dryer, or time. Clean out any glass dust with a bottle brush. Ensure the bottle is completely moisture-free before proceeding. Carefully insert the grommet using tweezers, avoiding pressure on the glass. If you've used glue, allow time for it to set before continuing.
The grommet will hide the edges of your drilled hole and give the lamp a more finished look. Once the grommet is in place, you can fill the hole. For a more finished look and added support, consider filling the hole around the electrical cord.
The grommet has a dual function. It protects the lamp cord, hides the rough edges of the drilled hole, and improves the lamp's appearance. Once the grommet is in place, you can optionally add a filler to conceal the electrical cord and give the lamp extra stability.
To lubricate the grommet, apply a bit of WD-40 using a cotton bud or matchstick. insert the lamp kit's electrical cord through the hole you previously drilled in the bottle. On the inside of the bottle, attach the lamp socket to the electrical cord by screwing it on. Gently pull the excess cord through the hole until the socket is snug against the interior of the bottle.
Next, turn your attention to the lamp fitting. If your wire can touch metal, opt for tri-core wire and a brass fitting for safety. For assembly, drill a 0.393 inches (1cm) hole in the lid, secure the lamp fitting with a nut, and add a modified bottle stopper or optic seal. Fill the bottle with your chosen items, ensuring they fit through the neck and past the cable. Anything under 0,63 inches (1,6 cm) wide should work. You can use jelly beans, glass beads, marbles, or ceramic baking beads. Angle the bottle and let the items slide down gently to avoid damage.
After filling the bottle, carefully guide the electrical cable through the grommet to minimize slack. Insert the lamp fitting into the bottle, ensuring a secure fit with the help of the optic seal. Finally, replace the bottle cap to complete the assembly. If your lamp kit includes a base, attach it firmly to the bottom of the bottle. Carefully screw the light bulb into the socket to complete the assembly.
Ensure the lamp is fully assembled, with the bulb securely in place, and all connections properly made. Next, connect the lamp's plug to a functioning power outlet, making sure the plug is correctly inserted. Switch on the lamp and observe if the bulb lights up - if it does, the lamp is working properly.
